Welcome to Green Thumbed. @MummysLittleGarden
Gardening, in our home, belongs to my mother. She often tells me that when I was just two years old, I loved playing with soil from plant pots—digging my tiny hands into it without fear. Somehow, that stayed with me. Even now, I still love the soil: its smell, its calmness, the humid scent, the cool touch. There’s something grounding about it that instantly quiets my mind.
I love every part of soil—even the worms living inside it. Watching how nature works so effortlessly, how these tiny creatures naturally fertilize the earth, makes me admire what God has created. Yet, when it comes to taking care of plants, I step back. I love them too much. And I’ve learned that loving too much often turns into over-caring—and over-caring can harm what’s meant to grow freely.
Plants need space. And I’ve noticed something about myself—I struggle to give space to the things and people I love. I’ve observed that when you simply plant something, place it under the sun, and water it occasionally, it grows on its own. Nature knows what it’s doing. My mother understands this balance beautifully. She collects plants, nurtures them patiently, and takes care of them with quiet wisdom.
Watching her love for plants inspired me to document her work. Through this page—and through YouTube—I become the cameraman, editor, and storyteller, while she does what she does best: caring for plants. She is the heart of this garden; I’m just capturing the journey.
This page is dedicated to her hands, the soil she touches, and the slow, gentle lessons gardening teaches us about love, space, and growth. 🌿
